BUFFALO, NEW YORK
area: 1,600 ft2 / 150 m2
Situated in the national historic district of Allentown, Buffalo, New York, this project entailed the renovation of an existing historic structure. The new space features residential units above and commercial space, occupied by asap headquarters, below. The space was organized by a single interior wall, strategically placed to create a large, open-plan studio separated from service spaces.
A new hardwood canopy was added to the facade, addressing the need for a new guardrail at the terrace above, and giving the previously forgettable building a new memorable identity.
